Maroon 5 “Love Somebody” (Video Premiere)
“Love Somebody” is a song recorded by American band Maroon 5. It was confirmed as the fourth official single taken from their fourth studio album “Overexposed” released on June 26, 2012 via A&M/Octone Records. It was written by Adam Levine and Nathaniel Motte together with Ryan Tedder and Noel Zancanella, who also served as producers. The track is alternative pop rock and lyrically explores “salvation on the dance floor“. Music critics gave the song mixed reviews; some of them praised its composition, linking it to the works by British alternative rock band Coldplay, however, there was some criticism towards its production and Levine’s vocals.
The band recorded the music video in late-January and the it was directed by Rich Lee, who directed 50 Cent’s music video of latest single “My Life“, and it was produced by Missy Galanida and David Naylor via DNA. The video was premiered on VEVO on May 21. Unfortunately the video was released before the official premiere on YouKu on May 19.
