‘Ultraviolence‘ is the upcoming second major studio album by American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey. It’s scheduled to be released on digital retailers on June 16th, 2014 via Interscope Records.
The title was revealed prior to playing Del Rey’s mini-movie ‘Tropico‘ at the Cinerama Dome on December 4, 2013, she announced to the audience the title of her next studio album. Del Rey said:
I really just wanted us all to be together so I could try and visually close out my [Born to Die/Paradise] chapter[s] before I release the new record, Ultraviolence
The singer has recorded songs in the studio with Jeff Bhasker and Dan Auerbach, who already worked with her in Del Rey’s last, and successful album ‘Born to Die‘ (2012).
The lead single from the album is the track ‘West Coast‘, and it’s was released on digital retailers on April 14th. The tracklist was confirmed by Amazon.fr on May 8th. The official artwork surfaced online on Universal Music Group intranet on May 9th.
Alongside the pre-order of the album on iTunes, Del Rey released the track ‘Shades of Cool‘ as the first promotional / countdown single on May 26th. The second countdown single was the album’s title track ‘Ultraviolence‘ and it was released on June 4th.
