Zendaya “My Baby” (Urban Remix) [Video Premiere]

Zendaya still struggling to start promoting the highly-awaited second single taken from her eponymous debut album “Zendaya“, released on September 17. The star of Disney Channel has promoted properly only the lead single “Replay“, put up for sale on iTunes on August 23, 2013. Since then, rumors about what could be the second single, and if her label Hollywood Records could have canceled the promotion of the album, have been emerging on the Internet.

In November, one of the producers of the album Mitch Allan, confirmed the possibility of launching “Bottle You Up” as the second single from the album on Twitter. He wrote: “@zendaya singing the national anthem at The Ravens game….could be a good sign for this hometown boy who possibly cowrote her next single“. Months have passed, and nothing has been made official.

During New Year’s Eve, Zendaya posted a new photo on Instagram. A screenshoot of her new video, accompanied by text: “You know you wanna be my baby….#blessandsee @bobbybrackins @stephengarnett @nickydiamonds1“. Those lyrics are from her song and album’s closing track “My Baby” and the people quoted are the writers and producers of it. The song uses a very similar basis to the track “Beat It“, second single from the Jamaican singer Sean Kingston’s latest album “Back 2 Life“.

Finally, everything becomes clear. “My Baby” is NOT the second official single from the album it’s just a promotional / buzz single. The track has an alternate version with the collaboration of American rappers Try Dolla $ing, Bobby Brackins and IAMSU.

The music video directed by Stephen Garnett was premiered in full on her Youtube channel on January 27, 2014. It has the guest appearance of American recording artist Christina Milian. The music video for the urban remix with TY$, Bobby Brackins and Iamsu! was premiered on February 15.
