Meghan Markle’s bestie hits back at Instagram trolls

Jessica Mulroney, bestie of Meghan Markle, endured some nasty body shaming on Instagram after she shared a photo of herself in a bikini. The 39-year-old celebrity stylist, being entitled to positive comments about her body when she flaunts it online, received a mix of negative responses, many of which seemed to be obviously trying to kindle the drama fire.

Many comments accused her of inappropriately trying to display sex appeal as a mother. One even asked if silicone floated, a reference to cosmetic surgery Mulroney has received. The photo was posted to her 339,000 Instagram followers and depicted her on a sandy beach with palm trees in the background. She captioned the photo with “Brings ten bathing suits… only gets to wear one on a balcony. All work no play in Cayman. I WILL BE BACK to play in the water with the kiddies.”

The post got over 22,000 likes and a lot of comments both positive and negative. Mulroney’s fans were quick to defend her and back up her comments. In response to those accusing her of being inappropriately lewd, she responded “I’m not selling sex. Check yourself and perhaps educate yourself on women post-babies that want to achieve confidence and career goals. Tone it down.”

The comments from her fans are all pretty typical and invoke platitudes like “stop the hate” or “don’t try to bring down a confident woman”.

This is not the first time she has had to deal with backlash on a photo she uploaded. Earlier in August she removed a bikini image after the trolling on the photo got out of control.

She reuploaded that picture later on, saying that “I took this down after posting it yesterday. Too many trolls attacking.

“But I realised today, I don’t care. I work hard on every aspect of my life and I’m proud of my body.”
