Colin Farrell Confirmed As Penguin In The New Batman Movie

The first batch of The Batman set photos have finally leaked, and fans called it ahead — “It’s Colin Farrell.” And, since the leaks revealed yesterday spilled the beans for Director Matt Reeves, he took to Twitter and confirmed the casting using a GIF of Farrell with a caption “Wait – is that you, Oz?”

Back in November, reports of Warner Bros negotiating with Colin Farrell to play The Penguin surfaced. Two months later, set photos revealed Farrell wearing all-black clothing with white or silver hair, holding an umbrella — Penguin’s trademark prop.

MovieWeb suggests that Reeve’s Oswald Cobblepot depiction is a bit of reimagining — taking on the success brought by Batman Returns and Gotham in recreating classic villains.

The leaked set photos showcase a lot of Gotham vehicles. But, one thing’s apparent, there are some pretty significant changes. There are some exciting shots taken behind-the-scenes. A mystery actor or stuntman in a black motorcycle helmet with a camera set on the front of the bike.

The Batman started production ahead of its release on June 25, 2021. With Matt Reeve’s confirmation of Farrell’s addition, he joins the trio of villains composed of Paul Dano as The Riddler and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman.
